Loose ring snaffle with link and mouthpiece of sweet iron. Sweet iron ensures that the horse accepts the bit faster and better. The mouthpiece is anatomically shaped for optimal position in the horse's mouth. The thickness of the bit is 14 mm. Available with mouthpiece of sweet iron, finished in stainless steel. The 65 mm rings are also made of stainless steel.
Sweet iron
Sweet iron develops through contact with (air) humidity surface rust that tastes sweet and stimulates saliva production in a natural way. As a result, the horse will produce more foams which ensures a better acceptance of the bit. This process of rusting (oxidation) changes the blue colour of the sweet iron bit in brown grey, see the detail picture. By temporarily not using a sweet iron bit an orange-brown rust layer can occur on the mouthpiece. This can be easily removed by wiping the bit with a damp cloth.
